How to trade multiple symbols using a watch list. Update the orders every x minutes to make a simulated trailing stop.

How about – how to start programming your system, this could be a discussion on a block logic diagram used to figure out all the pitfalls of RT trading. I belive this is the way large programs are dealt with. I think they are called “flowcharts”?

    Hello Brian,

    Thank you for your feedback!

At the moment I am somewhat preoccupied with my own system design, however, when time permits trading multiple tickers will be covered in Real-Time System Design category:

The system design pitfalls are listed in the Real-Time AFL Programming category, see:
There are too many, and they are too unique for each application, to cover exhaustively on the UKB.

Flow charts are very system specific, I have made many but they never even looked similar. Flow charts are very useful for specific, well-defined, small tasks. The problem is that to produce such graphics for this volunteer site would just be too much work.

    Best regards,

I’d love to know how I can trade real time with IB while using a reliable data provider such as eSignal. It seems AB has huge potential for real time trading, but I’m not willing to trust IB’s data for real-time trading decisions..

Simply set your data plugin to eSignal. The Interactive Brokers Controller is a separate program from the IB plugin. This means you can trade IB with data from eSignal.
